Borrowing Materials : All University of Cincinnati students, faculty, and staff may borrow materials from the Clermont College Library using the University of Cincinnati I.D. card (Bearcat Campus Card). You may also use other valid picture I.D.s, such as a driver's license, to check out materials.
Requesting University of Cincinnati Libraries Materials: You may request available UCL materials be sent to the Clermont College Library for pick up. Complete the request online through the "Request" option in the catalog or at the library's circulation desk. Please note: requests will be canceled if the item requested is available in the library selected for pick up.
Requesting OhioLINK Materials: When desired materials are not available from any University of Cincinnati Libraries' location, you may request them from another OhioLINK library. Search for materials in the OhioLINK Central Catalog and request items using the "Request This Item" link in the item record and follow the directions for specifying a pick-up location. Materials from OhioLINK libraries generally arrive in 5 business days. View Your Library Record to check the status of your request and to determine if the requested item(s) has arrived.
Placing Holds on Materials: You may place a hold on material that is already checked out. When the checked out material is returned to the library, your requested hold will be activated. Hold information, like status, can be tracked in your library record using the View Your Library Record option in the online catalog.
Interlibrary Loan: Use Interlibrary loan (ILLIAD) for items that University of Cincinnati Libraries do not own or for items that are unavailable at UC and OhioLINK.
Verify that any article you are requesting is not available in electronic format using the electronic journal finder (search by journal title, not article title, to locate journals in which the article appears).
If the item you need is not available through either of the above sources, link to this site to request your item: http://illiad.uc.edu/index.html.
*All materials are subject to recall. ** Charles McMicken Society, Herman Schneider Legacy Society, Institute for Learning in Retirement, UC Alumni Association, Retired UC employees, Gateway participants.
Renewing Materials: Materials may be renewed at any campus library. Borrowers are limited to 3 renewals for UC materials and 4 renewals for most OhioLINK materials. HOWEVER, if a hold/request has been placed on an item, NO renewals are permitted and fines will occur. You may renew materials:
In Person - by visiting the Clermont College Library circulation desk.
Receiving E-mail Notification: You can sign-up to receive e-mail notification for overdue items, hold arrival notification, and library bills. Because these notifications will not longer be sent to library users via traditional mail services, you should verify that your correct e-mail address is listed in your library record. You may use the View Your Library Record option in the library catalog to verify and/or update this information at any time. You may also update this information at any circulation desk.
Recalling Materials: Materials can be recalled after 3 weeks, which means a patron may request a currently checked out item to be returned after the minimum check-out period. To recall an item, click "Request" from the item record in the online catalog.
