Calico Children's Theatre
2008-2009 Series Schedule

Calico Children’s Theatre is a UC Clermont community initiative geared towards families with children ages 3-12 years of age (see performance descriptions for recommended grade levels). The cost of tickets per performance is: $6 per adult and $4 for children, seniors and UC Clermont students.  Performances are approximately one hour in length.

Read Like a Rock Star!! Presented by Thaddeus Rex Friday, October 10, 2008  7 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2008  10 a.m. You may also enjoy the Write Like a Rockstar Workshop. Blending the energy of rock with the sensibility of Folk, Thaddeus Rex's concerts are "part Monty Python, part Dr. Seuss" (Washington Post) and for all kids. A PBS vetern and acoustic rock musician, Thaddeus passionately endorses the power of reading with original songs that have won multiple awards and been hailed "a sincere celebration of reading" (The Los Angeles Times) and "a detour off the beaten path" (Parenting Magazine). Mantra:  A Classical Dance Production Presented by Cultural Centre of India Friday, November 14, 2008  7 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2008  10 a.m. You may also enjoy  the Dance Language of India workshop. You won't want to miss this visually stunning show featuring songs and dances from exotic India!  Dancers dressed in colorful costumes, intricate jewelry and theatrical makeup will entertain you with breath-taking footwork and ancient story-telling techniques. The Comedy Ventriloquism of Lynn Trefzger Friday, March 20, 2009  7 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2009  10 a.m. You may also enjoy the Ventriloquism for Beginners workshop. Lynn Trefger is a ventriloquist/comedienne with a trunk full of zany characters that have accompanied her to stages throughout the country.  Her vocal illusion talents were first brought to national audiences on TVs popular Star Search and she has since performed with artists including Jeff Foxworthy, Ray Romano, Smothers Brothers, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.  Her off-the-wall audience interplay is riotously funny.  Lynn (and her many voices) has appeared on ABC, TNN, A&E and Lifetime.  Recommended for grades K-8 Website:  http://www.active-media.com/dca/
