There are many resources available to adults who are interested in beginning or continuing education.

If you need assistance with any part of the process of beginning or continuing your education, there is a program funded through the U. S. Department of Education called Educational Opportunity Centers. These federally funded TRiO programs provide counseling and information on college admissions and financial aid to qualified adults interested in entering or continuing postsecondary education in any two- or four-year college, or vocational or technical school. EOCs do not recruit for any school or program and all services are free.

The Southwest Ohio Educational Opportunity Center serves Hamilton, Clermont, Brown and Butler counties in Ohio as well as Campbell, Kenton and Boone counties in Kentucky. Click here to go back to Southwest Ohio Educational Opportunity Center homepage.

If you are low income or your parents did not receive a four-year college degree, we are able to assist with some of the associated admission fees.

Information about obtaining copies of transcripts

It is likely that you will need to obtain copies of transcripts of your previous educational experiences. This includes high school or GED as well as any college or technical/vocational schools you have attended.

In order to obtain high school transcripts, contact your high school. They will either have the transcript at their location or will direct you to a central district location in order to obtain it.

In order to obtain GED transcripts, contact the state in which you received the GED. In Ohio, go to:

www.ode.state.oh.us/curriculum-assessment/GED_transcript.asp.

In Kentucky, go to:

If you obtained your GED in another state, go to Resources and contact the EOC.

If you are unemployed, go to your local Employment Services office and see if you are eligible for educational benefits.
